Ever have those times in life when you realize that you are at the right place at the right time? I spent the better part of last week at VON & Channel Partners - two telecom industry shows - and after walking the floor and having back-to-back meetings, I realized that Bandwidth.com is, indeed, in such a place… the right company, at the right time in telecom history.
The power of Bandwidth.com’s story today is really about three things: footprint, flexibility & focus. Over the past 3 years, Bandwidth.com has quietly built a nationwide, next-generation, all-IP voice network that is now live in 95%+ of US LATAs. It is extraordinarily unique for anyone other than the big, traditional phone carriers to have such a footprint, but now, nationwide business customers have a real alternative to working with the big guys (here is a 2-page PDF about our network).
With a nationwide footprint as the table stakes, Bandwidth.com has gotten the opportunity to work with some extraordinary customers. But what has really set us apart, and allowed us to help customers solve amazing business challenges, is the flexibility with which we are able to craft innovative IP solutions. Flexibility is almost unheard of in telecom (cobbled-together, legacy networks make it difficult to think outside of the box), yet it is clear to me that customers are clamoring to use the power of voice to innovate - and that’s where Bandwidth.com shines.
Finally, my discussions at VON showed me that our focus on innovation in business communications (not consumer) and SIP are important to companies looking to have a trusted IP voice partner.
