AT&T MIS T1

AT&T MIS Requires a POTS Line

The Managed Internet Service (MIS) available from AT&T is delivered as a turn-key IP solution to small, medium and enterprise businesses alike. The MIS package includes the T1 port, which connects to the AT&T IP backbone at a data rate of 1.54 Mbps, a T1 local loop making the bridge between the port and the local premise of install, and the CPE, which is subject to change based on the service delivered, but it typically Cisco brand. Because AT&T MIS is a fully managed solution, AT&T offers full usage statistics and reporting, trouble management, proactive response, and incident reporting. In the case of an internet outage, AT&T must have access to the router in order to configure and make changes remotely. To perform this task, a POTS line must be made available and be connected to the CPE via a supplied modem at all times. This POTS line is the responsibility of the buyer to purchase and maintain.
