With the AT&T NxT1 Access option, the user can obtain bandwidth above 1.5 Mbps (T1) without requiring T3 access. N x T1 connects two to four dedicated T1 circuits (3 Mbps, 4.5 Mbps and 6 Mbps) from one router at the customer's site to a singe Internet access port. N x T1 Access is provided through a combination of software and hardware components, giving greater bandwidth by automatically load balancing traffic over multiple T1 links.
N x T1 effectively bundles individual T1 connections through the use of per-packet load balancing on the combined circuits such that the total combined bandwidth of the multiple circuits can exceed the bandwidth of the individual circuits. AT&T will manage inbound (Network to Customer) and outbound (Customer to Network) load balancing for all MIS with Managed Router Customers who elect the NxT1 Access option. For AT&T MIS customers that elect to provide and manage their own CPE and elect the NxT1 Access option, AT&T will provision inbound load balancing while outbound load-balancing can be achieved using either per-packet or per-destination at the customer's discretion
