EdgeMarc Series Converged Network Appliances by Edgewater

EdgeMarc Series Converged Network Appliances by Edgewater Networks are at home in mission critical LAN applications especially Voice over IP (VoIP). Edgewater has engineered this line of enterprise duty appliances with very sophisticated on-board Quality of Service (QoS) traits. EdgeMarc series routers classify high priority endpoint devises such as IP handsets and A/D adaptors based on the given MAC address and then mark traffic from these devises as priority over other packets sent across the LAN. These classified and marked packets are then queued respectively for both upstream and downstream transit.

The line up consists of four routers than span from SOHO to Corporate use. The first in the line-up is the EdgeMarc 4200 which is ideal for SOHO and small business or any deployment behind a functional T1 router where routing requirements are minimal. The EdgeMarc 4200 serves up 4 10/100 Ethernet ports and a single 10/100 WAN interface. The EdgeMarc 4200 supports from 2 to 30 concurrent VoIP conversations. The next in line is a EdgeMarc 4300T which is an ideal router where T1/E1 termination is needed. The EdgeMarc 4300T will effectively terminate a T1/E1 as well as provide the same features as it’s 4200 little brother. Enterprise users with needs above 30 concurrent VoIP calls will enjoy the EdgeMarc 5300 and 6300 series appliances.

Designed to simplify, expedite, and reduce cost of VoIP deployment, the EdgeMarc series appliances serve as a critical demarcation point of any mission critical VoIP service.
