How Is It Installed?
Your local cable company will have a couple of installation options available. Either a technician will come to your home and connect the cable to your new high speed modem or you may be able to choose to do it yourself. Doing it your self will involve a kit provided by the local cable service provider with everything needed to get the service up and running.
Time Frame
Cable is usually connected sooner, usually with a few days of placing the order, than DSL or a dedicated circuit because cable does not have to provision service through the local exchange carrier.
