Call-back Number

What is a Call-back Number (CBN)?

Ever have a critical 911 call drop, but before you can panic, you get a reassuring callback? Thank your callback number (CBN) for making that possible—it’s a built-in safety net, ensuring that even if you are disconnected from a 911 call, the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) has a direct line to ring you back.

A CBN is a designated phone number that is included in the endpoint record for emergency responses. If a call gets disconnected for any reason, the PSAP operator uses the displayed CBN to reconnect with the caller quickly. This ability to reconnect improves response times and enhances safety by ensuring continuous communication during critical situations.
