Frequently Asked Questions About The BoxSet

Quick Answers to Your BoxSet and Bundling Questions

About the BoxSet Bundles

What is a BoxSet?

BoxSet is a bundle of voice and data services from Bandwidth.com that comes in four basic "Volumes." Every Volume includes a toll-free number, a free router/QoS device and unlimited local and long distance calling. The four Volumes offer different connectivity and voice capacity choices so that our SMB customers can find the bundle that fits their situation.

How can I get a BoxSet?

The fastest way to get a BoxSet is to call (800) 808-5150 right now - we have account executives standing by to assist you. Or you can submit a request for quote by filling out the form on the right side of the page.

How much does BoxSet cost?

BoxSet Unplugged is available as low as $179/mo. Call or submit a quote for pricing on Volumes 1, 2 & 3.

Why should I bundle my services?

There are several good reasons to bundle services from Bandwidth.com - first and foremost, because you save 20% by combining voice and data with BoxSet. Also, you save by running your voice traffic over the same network as your data - in fact, we recently released a webinar entitled "How Can I Save By Using Voice and Internet Together" that details the benefits of bundling services. Check it out at BandwidthU!

Can I port my phone numbers?

Yes, in many cases; it depends on the number and the associated address. Bandwidth.com makes moving numbers easy thanks to our my.bandwidth.com portal.

How long does it take to get a BoxSet installed?

Typical installation timeframes fall within the 30-45 day range, with most of that period taken up by the installation of the internet circuit. Unplugged BoxSet, which uses an existing internet connection, can be provisioned in as little as 14 days.

Hardware Questions

Will my PBX work with BoxSet?

BoxSet drives voice traffic to virtually all PBXes: BoxSet can deliver your voice as analog lines, digital PRI lines or SIP Trunks as needed. For a list of the SIP PBX vendors Bandwidth.com interoperates with, please visit our compatible pbx list.

Will BoxSet Unplugged work with my Internet connection?

Yes, but for quality reasons we recommend a business class circuit. We also require that you have a public static IP address, which means residential connections do not qualify for an Unplugged BoxSet.

What are unlimited SIP Trunks?

An unlimited SIP trunk is a single talk path with unlimited inbound and outbound calling in the 48 contiguous United States. Each SIP Trunk comes with a unique phone number and a directory listing.

What is an Edgemarc and why does it come with the BoxSet?

An Edgemarc is a combination router/Quality of Service (QoS) device that is placed on the customer's premises. This QoS router has a robust set of mechanisms it employs to identify voice traffic (inbound or outbound) and ensure that the required amount of bandwidth is available. During times of potential congestion, the QoS mechanisms are initiated, and your voice quality stays clear of the noise and jitter that non-QoS solutions can experience during heavy usage periods.
